Hospital birth

If you are either not considered low risk because of something that happened during a previous pregnancy, labour, birth or in the weeks after birth, or simply because it is your preference, then you have the option to engage my services. I can provide your antenatal and postnantl care, and referral to the hospital of choice.

I'm currently undertaking the credentialling process to be able to provide care as your private midwife at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH). Until that process is complete, I can continue your care at KEMH as a support person, advocating for your wishes.

There are some things that you need to provide yourself if you do wish to birth in a hospital setting.

  • Toiletries (shampoo, body wash, deodorant
  • Footwear (slippers, thongs, slip-ons)
  • Loose clothing (pyjamas, nightie, dressing gown, sarong or an oversize T-shirt)
  • Loose, comfortable underwear (a few pairs)
  • Maternity bras or breast feeding singlet tops
  • Breast pads
  • Camera, phone charger
  • Hair elastic or ties
  • Lip balm
  • Water bottle, perhaps juice or electrolytes
  • Snacks and drinks for support people and yourself while in labour
  • Playlist of your choice
  • Electric essential oil diffuser and oils of your choice
  • Do not bring valuable with you, just your Medicare card
  • Clothes to take baby home in (singlet, outfit, wraps or baby sleeping bag appropriate to the season)
  • Ensure that the baby car seat has been correctly installed at about 36 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Baby nappies and maternity pads
